Boron welding systems in place

At Nixons we aim to invest in our staff’s training and development. This also allows us to pass on the benefits of up to the minute knowledge to our customers. All our panel technicians attended Boron Welding and Awareness Training which was carried out at Openshaw Tech in Manchester. Boron metal is a new hi-tech steel that is now being used in modern vehicles i.e inner sills, chassis, legs, seat belt pillars.

We have gone green

It’s our opinion that it’s everybody’s responsibility to be environmentally aware and proactive in helping towards a greener environment, to show our commitment to ‘green issues’ in August we opted to change to Standox water based paints which do not require solvents and are therefore friendlier to the environment.

Aluminium booth installed
18/7/08

Most German cars currently have outer panels made from aluminium and other manufacturers are starting to use this material more and more for their vehicle body parts. To be able to service and repair these body parts we have trained our panel technicians, via Basic Welding Ltd in Manchester, to use a Lorch Supron S3 ally welder. This is now a fully operational service we can offer to our customers.

Grand Plans for Nixons

To accommodate a new paint preparation area and met bays we completed the expansion of our Bodyshop in June by extending the premises by a further 2000 sq feet. This has enabled us to create more efficient areas for paint preparation and vehicle inspections before delivering vehicles back to customers.

New systems up and running

Digital imaging has become the forefront of computerised estimating systems. At Nixons our estimators can prepare an in-depth, fully itemised estimate using the latest computer aided and video imaging system, Audatex. This allows us to swiftly gain authorisation from your Insurance Company to proceed with repairs. Meaning repairs can commence straight away without the need for multiple estimates, making the process of getting your car repaired quick and easy.

Modus faultless systems up and running

Snap on is at the forefront of vehicle diagnostics, we have recently invested in the latest snap-on 'Modus' Diagnostic equipment enabling us to carry out fault finding and vast data acquisition, both for use in-car and workshop on most vehicles available on the market today. This will assist us to re-set air bags and seat belt enershers and diagnose engine faults after an accident.
